Manual Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists practice Manual Therapy, which is an approach to musculoskeletal dysfunction that views the body as an interrelated whole. While treatment by the therapist’s hands is the central part of this approach, Manual Therapy also incorporates other techniques and philosophies. The purpose of the manual component is to mobilize or stabilize a particular joint or spinal segment to facilitate the best results from other treatment techniques such as Intelligent Movement.
Within the physical therapy profession, Manual Therapy is defined as a clinical approach utilizing skilled, specific hands-on techniques, including but not limited to manipulation/mobilization, used by the physical therapist to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increasing range of motion (ROM); reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function.
The use of Manual Therapy is effective for all orthopedic conditions of the spine and extremities, soft tissue injuries, sports injuries, pre and post surgical rehabilitation, acute and chronic pain, pelvic pain, headaches, prenatal and post-partum pain, complex cases, and much more. Your physical therapist will utilize a wide variety of Manual Therapy techniques along with biomechanical counseling and Intelligent Movement to assist your recovery and guide you to wellness.
Fee-For-Service
Physical therapy sessions are billed on an hourly basis, in 15 minute increments, at rates between $120 and $140 determined by the therapist’s years of experience and advanced skill set.
Insurance Process
Insurance often covers rehabilitation services provided by our licensed physical therapists. These services are rendered on a fee-for-service basis. We generate an invoice and Health Insurance Claim Form (HICF) for clients to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. Most insurance plans reimburse for our services at an out-of-network rate unless you are using Medicare, Worker”s Compensation or auto insurance in which case our office will bill the insurance company directly. We will gladly check insurance benefits for you prior to your appointment.
