Our therapists and instructors have extensive training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, pathology, advanced manual therapies, and movement intervention for use with both healthy and clinical populations. Our Pilates Instructors are trained through Polestar® Education and certified by the Pilates Method Alliance® (PMA®).

Amy Broekemeier is the owner and clinical director at Pinnacle Performance. She received a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 1996 from Creighton University after completing a Bachelorís degree in Psychology. She is currently a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) through the NAIOMT, and will complete her examination for Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) in addition to pursuing a fellowship with the AAOMPT. She is a Senior Educator and Examiner for Polestar Education with an emphasis on instructing advanced coursework for the program. Amy holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Utah Physical Therapy Department where she instructs a segment on Pilates for Rehabilitation and utilizes her position through the University to pursue research endeavors. She has been an invited lecturer and instructor for numerous events and received the Utah APTA Physical Therapist of the year award in 2005. Amy started Pinnacle Performance because she saw a desperate need to evaluate and treat clients through a holistic model of practice. She is grateful that Pinnacle gives her the opportunity to utilize her skills as a full-time clinician, mentor, educator, and director to facilitate health and well being of her clients and the community. ▼ Amy B. Shawnee S. Haws, DPT, PMA®-CPT

Shawnee S. Haws received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Utah in 2005 and has practiced at Pinnacle Performance ever since. She received her Pilates training through Polestar Pilates in 2004 and became a certified instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance in 2008. She served as a Mentor for new Polestar Pilates students prior to becoming an Educator in 2010. Shawnee is currently pursuing additional manual therapy training through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) as well as advanced Pilates education. She believes that healthy living is essential for the body, mind, and spirit. Her goal is to provide quality care and education in helping clients achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles. A Utah native, Shawnee enjoys outdoor recreation and cycling. Her other interests include University of Utah Football, photography, and most importantly, her husband and sons. ▼ Shawnee S. Tessa received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Utah in 2008. As a student, she was drawn to Pinnacle Performance for its holistic approach to physical therapy. She began working full-time as a therapist at Pinnacle after graduating and completing certification as a Pilates practitioner through Polestar Education. Prior to Pinnacle, she worked at the University of Utah Orthopedic Center and Physical Therapy School as the research assistant for the SMERF (Skeletal Muscle Exercise Research Facility) lab group. She is currently pursuing a manual therapy certification through the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Jenn Pine, DPT

Jenn Pine pursued her Pilates training with Polestar Pilates during physical therapy school, after being drawn to the idea of observing and teaching movement of the body as an integrated whole. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Utah in 2011. She joined the practice at Pinnacle in order to be part of a team that can treat every person with a unique, holistic treatment plan that incorporates the health of their whole body. Physical Therapy is Jenn’s second career after leading wilderness climbing and skiing expeditions for eight years. Jenn is currently pursuing additional manual therapy training through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. She is passionate about helping people get back to the activities and sports that they love! Jenn loves to climb rock of all kinds and to ski tour. Jennifer (Divis) Cammack, DPT

Jennifer Divis received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2016. During school, she discovered Pinnacle Performance and was inspired by the treatment model which allows her to treat holistically in a truly patient-centered way. This led her to pursue training through Polestar Pilates which she completed in 2017. She is currently obtaining training in order to become certified through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Her passion is in understanding the details of how all the body systems and areas of the body are connected. Her goal is to help people reach their movement goals so that they can continue to participate in their daily activities and hobbies. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys rock climbing, alpine skiing, running, hiking, and anything outdoors.
Beth Blackburn
Polestar® Pilates Practitioner
Beth found Pinnacle after a back injury left her searching for better ways to heal. Experiencing the benefits of Pilates firsthand inspired her to complete Polestar Pilates Certification in August 2013 at Pinnacle Performance. Beth is an avid mountain biker and occasional road cyclist. She enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, and yoga, and has found that Pilates continues to play a huge role in keeping her body healthy and active.
Leslie Hales, PMA®-CPT

Leslie Hales is excited to be a part of Pinnacle Performance. She earned her BS in Advanced Radiology in 2008 from Weber State University and currently works full time doing MRI at the University of Utah Hospital. While studying at Weber State, she was introduced to Pilates and fell in love with the excitement it brought to her exercise regimen and the balance it brought to her life. She became a Polestar Certified Instructor in 2010 and has been teaching at Pinnacle ever since. She loves helping others discover how strong they are and helping them love Pilates as much as she does! Emily Monroe-Jones
Emily moved back to Salt Lake City in 2016, she has spent the last year expanding her knowledge of athletic movement. In this exploration, Emily discovered Pinnacle Performance and the OOV. She completed all 3 Levels of OOV education and can be quoted as saying “The OOV was life-changing. I have never been more inspired or felt better.”
