FAQs

10 Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should I see a physical therapist at Pinnacle Performance if I have already been through physical therapy elsewhere?

Our therapists look at the human system as a fully functioning, integrated whole. They are highly educated in Manual Therapy, neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation, and functional-relational anatomy for efficient movement. You will receive an extensive, full body, musculoskeletal evaluation, effective hands-on treatment, education about the management of your clinical diagnosis, and whole body movement intervention. Our therapists are working with you 1 on 1 each session without interruption which allows a very conscientious delivery of the skills and information required for full recovery and management of your clinical diagnosis.

2. Will my insurance cover services at Pinnacle Performance?

If the service is applied by or under the direction of a licensed physical therapist, and in an individual session, your insurance may cover some of the cost of the service. Insurance often covers rehabilitation services provided by our licensed physical therapists and licensed acupuncturist. These services are rendered on a fee for service basis. We generate an invoice and Health Insurance Claim Form (HICF) for clients to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. Most insurance plans reimburse for our services at an ‘out-of-network’ rate unless you are using Medicare, Workers’ Compensation or auto insurance in which case our office will bill the insurance company directly.

3. Will my insurance cover group classes at Pinnacle Performance?

We do not bill insurance for group classes; however, many clients have employer flex programs that will cover the cost of our services. Our Restorative Reformer/Tower classes are always instructed by a physical therapist and are frequently used during the rehabilitation process and for maintenance of health and wellness post-rehabilitation. Please check if you have these benefits in your flex plan, and our staff will obtain the correct paperwork for you to utilize these services through those programs.

4. Are physical therapy services at Pinnacle Performance more expensive than the traditional physical therapy model?

It may seem that spending money directly for service is more expensive. However, your therapist will probably only see you 1x/week at first to provide services and educate you in your self healing process. As you improve, the sessions will be less frequent and determined by your diagnosis and need. You will pay between $120-140/hour each session with a physical therapist at Pinnacle Performance. In the traditional model, each session is billed at over $200/session to your insurance, you may have a co-pay, and you may not have adequate time with your therapist to provide the best care necessary, or you may have multiple sessions/week. At Pinnacle, we see you as determined by your diagnosis and need for optimal healing. Number, frequency and timing of appointments are never determined by your insurance. If your insurance covers any % of our services, it will be cost effective for you to see us and have a definitive clinical diagnosis, optimal treatment, and a long-term plan of care and management. This approach will prevent requirement of excessive medical services for the diagnosis in the future.
